How to Replace a Damaged Hinge

  1. Open the door wide enough to access the hinge.
  2. Look for the release mechanism at the back of the hinge. You can press this to detach the hinge from the base plate.
  3. Release the hinge carefully and remove it from the base plate.
  4. Remove the damaged part of the old hinge and attach the new one by screwing it in place.
  5. When all parts of the hinges are replaced and screwed into the right places, align the door with the base plates in the cabinet.
  6. Press the hinges together - you should hear a "click" when it's properly seated.
  7. Close the door to make sure it shuts properly and the hinge works smoothly.
  8. Adjust the hinges if necessary (see the next Blog Post).
